TWELVE SEMINARIANS ACCEPTED INTO CANDIDACY

The Office of Seminarians and Vocations is happy to announce that On August 5, 2019 at Our Lady of the Oaks Retreat Center Chapel, at the first Mass of the annual Seminarian Summer Seminar, Bishop J. Douglas Deshotel admitted twelve Lafayette seminarians into Candidacy for Holy Orders. In the Admission to Candidacy rite, the candidate for ordination publicly expresses his intention to receive ordination as a Deacon and subsequently as a Priest. These twelve men all attend Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans.

Reed Michael Bellingham, son of Stephen and Lisa Reed Bellingham, is in First Theology, and he is sponsored by Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Coteau.

Alex Grant Cormier is in First Theology, is sponsored by St. Joseph in Cecilia, and is the son of Bryan and Jackie Huval Cormier.
Myles Brandon Creek, son of Harry and Gwynn Acosta Creek, is in First Theology and is sponsored by St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Lafayette.
Brent Joseph Didier, sponsored by St. Leo IV in Roberts Cove, is in Second Theology, and is the son of Leo and Claire Clayton Didier.
Casey Rene Dugas is in Third Theology, is the son of Sandy and Jill Dartez Dugas, and is sponsored by Sacred Heart in Baldwin.
John Karol Dugas, the son of Joel and Fran Belair Dugas, is in Second Theology and is sponsored by St. Joseph in Loreauville.
David James Furka is in First Theology, is sponsored by St. Pius X in Lafayette, and is the son of James and Angela LeBlanc Furka.
Jonathan Carrollton Harris is sponsored by Our Lady of Wisdom in Lafayette and is in First Theology. He is the son of Louie and Andrea Pappas Harris.
